Master Class Series - Wicked Problems and Small Change

The programme:

Suited to junior and mid-tier staff involved in workplace change and transition, this session will be of value to anyone facing complex change situations, entering new partnerships, or who may be feeling overwhelmed by the speed and scale of change. It will provide some practical approaches, tools to take away and an opportunity to share experiences with others.
We will explore the following:

  • The nature of change and transition
  • How we perceive tame, critical and wicked problems
  • Understand, embrace and work with resistance to change
  • Mess mapping: a systems based tool for looking at complex change issues with multiple stakeholders and partnerships
  • How we work individually and collectively on solving problems, and how this relates to tame, critical and wicked problems
  • Small Change as a practical approach to working with difficult to define and complex issues

You will develop a plan to take away based on this learning as well as tips and tools to manage transitions

You will:

  • Learn different approaches to working with change and transition
  • Understand the benefits of a collective approach to change and problem solving
  • Know how to recognise different types of problems
  • Hear new ideas to help you understand the nature of change
  • Find out how to improve a change process you are already part of
