World Café – Working with New Partners

Tuesday, January 27, 2015
09:30 to 16:00

This event is part of our Facilitator Network CPD and I am now able to offer the opportunity out more widely.  Please send this on to anyone you feel may be interested in learning more about either the process or the content.

World Café – Working with New Partners

This practical, participatory workshop examines the technique of World Café for exploring questions that matter by running a real time World Café on an issue that matters to everyone in the NHS, Working with New Partners. Together we will share experiences of working with new partners, the challenges and the benefits this brings to the workplace, and  we will ask what kind of leadership partnership working requires.

The Café format is flexible and adapts to many different circumstances. World Café is built on the assumption that people already have within them the wisdom and creativity to confront even the most difficult challenges and given the appropriate context and focus, it is possible to access and use this deeper knowledge.

The day is facilitated by Katie Venner.

What you’ll learn in the morning

In the morning we will run the World Café conversations. You will learn:

  • How a World Café works to explore important questions
  • What are the key issues for working with new partners
  • How to encourage dialogue, practise listening skills and look for themes in conversations.

What you’ll learn in the afternoon

In the afternoon you will reflect on your learning from the morning and you will consider:

  • Where you might use World Café and how to adapt it to your work situation
  • What are the issues for you as a facilitator of World Café
  • How the World Café format extends your skills as a facilitator

(It is possible to attend just the morning session, but please let us know in advance for catering purposes whether you require lunch.)
