Welcome to our December newsletter. It’s incredible to think we are entering the holiday season so quickly!
Looking back on November, we started with a couple days in London working with our national and regional colleagues focusing on systems leadership and STP development. Along-side this, the National Leadership Academy launched their Assessment centres for future CCG leaders. This development offer is available to those looking to progress into the role of accountable officer or chair within the next 6 to 12 months. If you wish to apply you have until 8th December. Further details are available within this newsletter.
During November, I had the pleasure of joining Mark Doughty, a Senior Consultant of The Kings Fund and, a dear friend of the South West Leadership Academy as he brought our Building Collaborative Trio’s programme to a close on Monday 13th November. For those unfamiliar with the programme, it was designed for trios (a clinician, manager and patient/service user or citizen) from the same local health and care system to work together on a shared challenge. The programme taught participants, in a practical and supportive environment, how to make progress on a real-time challenge whilst building a productive and collaborative relationship that provides a model for their organisation. I wish all the participants well on their leadership journey, as this is just the beginning!
December sees in some new and exciting development offers, we are starting our new programme, Enabling groups to achieve their best, holding our next Talent Management event which focuses on creating the network and we have our second module of the Leadership Development for STP Implementation programme.
As we enter the Christmas season I know many of us are looking forward to some time off with family and friends, whilst taking a well- earned break please spare a thought for our health and social care colleagues who will be working throughout the Christmas and New Year festivities to care for others.
Happy Christmas to you all and a prosperous new year!
