Leadership Outlook - June 2017

Posted: Friday, 2nd June, 2017

Welcome to the June edition of the Leadership Outlook. As summer arrives with us, we have a lot happening at the South West Leadership Academy. We will see a number of our regional programmes get off the ground during June. We continue to work closely with our partners in the six STP footprints within the region to shape and tailor our offering to support their organisational development agenda.

We will shortly launch applications for our Postgraduate Certificate in Healthcare Management, Leadership & Innovation. This will be the third cohort of a programme which has been specially designed for new, aspiring and experienced leaders in the South West - offering a complete overview of how it feels to lead in a complex, everchanging public sector. Participants have an introduction to organisational structures, cultures and the importance of individual and collective values in the minds of developing leaders. The feedback from the programme has been extremely positive and we include an insightful case study for you in this month’s newsletter.

This month also brings a departure from the team. Having enjoyed a ten year career in the NHS and the last four years with us in the team, Victoria Suter will leave us at the end of June. Victoria has contributed a huge amount of passion, energy and skill to leadership development across the region. More recently she has made a significant contribution to the Graduate Management Training Scheme in the South West and she will be sorely missed as the region’s expert!

I am sure you will join me in thanking Victoria for her dedication and wishing her the very best of luck as she moves on to pastures new.
